This week has been so amazing! I'm learning more and more about how I feel the Spirit and how to trust in the Spirit. This week, I learned that NOTHING is coincidence.
It started with last Friday. That morning I had been teaching an arrangement my aunt composed with the primary song: "My Heavenly Father Loves Me" to my companions. Not for any reason in particular but to have something we could all sing together to help us stop singing "worldly" songs. :) But to my surprise, Bro. Lloyd came into our class that evening to announce that there would be a "baptism" on Saturday and asked if we could give the musical number! We all just looked at each other surprised and I shouted, "Yes! We have the PERFECT song!" Haha it was so cool! We worked on it that night and the next morning with the rest of our district. I do believe that it was a blessing for me because music is one of the best ways I feel the Spirit and I love sharing my testimony! Whether it's through words, actions, or song.
Then, on the same day, I received a package from Sister Hurst! She is so sweet to think of me! She sent me a flag that had Captain Moroni's Title of Liberty printed on it with a marker for everyone to sign! It was so great! I really needed it! I LOVE Captain Moroni's example and having his Title of Liberty will be a great reminder of my purpose as a servant of the Lord.
On Sunday we had Sheri Dew speak in Relief Society! It was so awesome! She's an amazing woman. She spoke about the priesthood and clarified a ton of questions I had!
We started teaching an investigator in TRC this week! In TRC, members and non-members volunteer to be taught as investigators for the missionaries in the MTC! It terrified me at first but I ADORE my investigator! Her name is Evette and she reminds me so much of Melany! <3 We've only taught her 2 times but I've felt the spirit so much with her as I bear my testimony to her! I tend to bear my testimony 2 or 3 times in a lesson, it's crazy how the spirit is working through me!
Then... WE GOT OUR FIRST BAPTISMAL COMMITMENT set with a date! Although all of our investigators are actors and 2 of them are our teachers, it's still an amazing feeling. But Luisa committed to baptism! She's actually our teacher, Hermana Boza, but during our lessons, she's Luisa. And although I HATED role play at first because it felt fake to me, I've been able to push past that and focus on the purpose of practicing these lessons. At first, I wanted to drop her. But 1: I didn't want to give up just yet because she was hard to work with and 2: you can't drop an investigator in the MTC. haha :) But she was convinced that all she needed was the Bible and she's had missionaries through her house for 8 years! She was hard to work with but we finally connected with her! And I saw her get teary-eyed a few times during our last couple lessons. I LOVE THIS GOSPEL!!!!
Yesterday, John H. Groberg spoke for our Sunday Devotional! It was so good! I learned a lot from him. His main message was: Bear your testimony at all times! Through how you act, what you say, what you sing, what you do, by forgiving, who you are, etc.! It was so so good!
I know y'all have heard me say this before but I LOVE THIS GOSPEL! With all of my heart! There's no better feeling than watching someone's faith grow into action! It's amazing!
LOVE YOU ALL! KEEP THE FAITH! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!
Con Amor,
Hermana Whitman
