Week 2 down? Already? But it is getting better! I am getting used to the work and I notice myself learning the language better little by little.
After Prep day last week, we went to teach the first part of lesson 1 to a mother and a daughter, Margod and Keinin. When we talked about prophets, Margod, the mother, didn't really agree and told us so. Keinin also looked a little puzzled. So, I told the story of the first vision and the daughter, Keinin, got REALLY excited. I did too and I was absolutely sure the spirit was there. Hopefully, we will see them soon and continue teaching them because I don't think Margod has caught the fire yet.
We had zone conference and I got to see one of my MTC comps, Sister Ellis! It was so great!
It was cool that yesterday we had Alejandra and Carlos with their 2 daughters come to church (the family with the husband who had the crazy dreams), and it was great! And we brought another person to church that we just met like 3 days ago! Haha! He is the son of a sister that was baptized 2 years ago but never got the Holy Ghost! So, we are going to have to break it to her that she needs to be baptized again... Her name is Gladis and we are not sure if we should call her less active or investigator. Haha. She said she might come to church, but ended up not being home so we brought her son, Luis Roberto. He came to church and I feel like he really liked it. He ended up knowing a lot of people in our branch and felt right at home despite how different our church is. It was really cool during Gospel Principles class when the teacher asked him how he felt knowing that Heavenly Father wanted him to receive gifts of the spirit. He answered: "Inspirado." Which means inspired. I wanted to jump out of my seat and give him a high five. Haha! It was pretty awesome.
We have met some new families to teach and hopefully we will be setting some baptismal dates soon. Our inv. with the date for the 30th, Jesus, ended up not getting baptized. But he came to church and it was awesome! His girlfriend and her family are members in our branch and they are so good for him. He knows the church to be true but is scared because his family is very against the church and very Catholic. We had a powerful lesson with him after church in the chapel and now it really is up to him. He wants to get baptized but doesn't know what to do with his family.
Please keep the prayers coming!
I love you all and I know this church is true!! PURA VIDA!
