Okay, so I only have 30 minutes to write today! We don´t get a regular preparation day this week because we are going to the temple on Wednesday! I´m so excited!
This week was pretty awesome!
Last Tuesday, we were on our way to an appointment, but couldn´t make it because of the storm. We took refuge in a little house on the street and ended up meeting a new investigator. His name is "J". He is in his 20´s and he LOVES soccer. At first, I just thought he wouldn´t have much interest in the church but we had our first lesson with him on Friday and it was amazing! Hopefully, we´ll get to baptize him this month. If not this month, next month. His faith in God is amazing and he wants to progress spiritually. We had a member of our ward come to the lesson with us and he´s amazing too! His name is D.N. and he is waiting for his mission call. He is seriously so prepared for his mission. I learned so much from him through only having 3 lessons with us.
We have some of the strongest saints in our little branch here in Perez Zeledon. I am truly grateful for them and their strength in the Gospel.
We had to drop M, sadly. She is the nicest old woman ever, but she doesn´t want to progress. We have brought up baptism several times but she claims that she was already baptized like Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. We´ve also had to drop a few other investigators, even a whole family. Many people here are very set in their religion and are very comfortable with where they are.
BUT...... JESUS COMMITTED TO BAPTISM! This Sunday! I am so excited for him! He is so attentive and such a good person! He actually understands the lessons and remembers what we teach. Teaching the Ley de Castidad and Palabra de Sabiduria were a breeze. He was practically already living them. He is not sure how his family will react, they are very against the church, but he has received the confirmation to be baptized! I´m so so happy for him!
Mel also commited to baptism for this Saturday but I´m afraid we´ll have to move her date.. again. It´s really hard to be able to meet with her to teach her because she´s so busy but her testimony is so strong! She has a real desire to be baptized! I love her so much!
I know this gospel to be true! I love the church and I love my Savior. I´m grateful for the gift of the spirit and the gift of members. Members are so vital for missionary work! I know we couldn´t be half as successful without the spirit and faithful members of the church.
Well.. until next week! PURA VIDA! PARA BAUTIZAR Y RETENER!
